Good Morning

Black rat snake high up in a goldenrod plant in front of the house, waiting for the sun.

Sandra, hello! It's Henriette from Mayetta. I appreciated the addition of your blog site in the column this week. I have bookmarked so hopefully can keep track of it. I loved the column this week, full of lessons we are struggle to learn and accept as we grow older. Although you don't specifically mention age as a factor in recent decisions to let go of the need to garden as long as possible into the cold months. I have enjoyed scrolling thru recent blogposts, although I find the reminder that a black snake can curl up in the goldenrod a bit hard to take!! Hope all is most well with you.

I will share with you that our dear friend, EI, (don't want to use her name in a public site) is at the end of her life. She is 92 now and lives in a nice facility in the country SE of Holton. Sadly she has limited speech, and yet she deeply enjoys visitors and tries hard to verbalize. If you choose to send me a response for her, I will be sure to share it with her next week.

Be well, enjoy REST.

Henriette

Hi Henriette,
Lovely to hear from you. Thank you for your words about my column.
I love our black snakes here and really enjoy seeing them do odd things like this.
Thank you for the information about EI. I think about her often, wondering how she is doing. Give her my love.
